Welcome to H&H Dance Academy where we pride ourselves in creating a family enriched environment for every student to enjoy and grow at their own individual level.

Our certified staff is professionally trained with many years of teaching experience and are passionate about what they do. Our instructors who work with our younger dancers all obtained Early Childhood Education degrees. This sets our studio above the rest with teachers who are not only trained in the dance world, but are trained as teachers too. This allows our instructors to understand and enforce classroom management skills; to be able to accept different learning styles and abilities, and be able to engage all children in a positive classroom to strive for personal bests. All classrooms are age appropriate and focus on teaching a love of the arts though a disciplined stress free environment where children are encouraged to explore the wonderful world of dance.

Directors Heather Gerardi and Heidi Sulminski, members of Dance Masters of America, would like to thank you for your interest in H&H Dance Academy. Through dance education, we believe in promoting self-esteem, confidence, technically trained dancers, dedication and of course FUN!  Our studio is equipped with 3 dance rooms, waiting rooms, office area and ample parking.  Each dance room is equipped with CCTV cameras with a split screen viewing TV in the waiting room.  Class viewings are scheduled.  Our instructors are highly motivated and professionally trained with many years of teaching experience.

Here at HHDA classes are available for preschoolers through adults from beginner to advanced dancers in both recreational and competitive levels. Classes are offered in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acro, Pointe, Lyrical, Modern, Contemporary, Jumps and Turns, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Irish Step, Stretch & Conditioning, Adult Tap, Booty Barre, Piloxing and Latin Fitness. We also offer Birthday Parties, and Dancer’s Night Out.

Just a reminder that this weekend, May 20th & 21st is Picture Day!

 Get your smiles ready!  If you are unsure of your photo appointment time, please see the handouts that came home with each costume, or the picture day schedule that I have again attached.  You can also quickly reference any and all important information on our website.  Any questions, please let us know.  Please make sure to inform the office if you will not be attending picture day.  Remember you are invited to come anytime (not during lunch breaks) to take your individual photos on Saturday or Sunday, if the group appointment time doesn't work for your schedule.   We will send out more friendly reminders at the end of the week as well.

Picture Day Schedule 2017

The scheduled time is for our group photos first.  Dancers will arrive 5 minutes early in the selected costume from the schedule.  Upon arrival parents will fill out a form for each dancer.  We will take our group photos first in the upstairs gray room.  Parents are asked to wait in the waiting room to allow Donnor Photography to capture the best possible photos they can.  Once group photos have been taken, dancers will be escorted downstairs where there are two photographers in the yellow room waiting to capture your dancers individual photos. Dancers who have more than one costume are encouraged to take photos in multiple costumes.  This way you have several poses to select from on picture pick up day.   You are NOT obligated to purchase any photos, or make any prepaid payment agreements. During dress rehearsals, you will have the opportunity to preview the photos and purchase any pictures that you desire. There is no ordering, or having to deal with proofs.  Donnor Photography prints every photo in various sizes for you to select from.  They do a great job creating memories for us.  We are always happy to welcome them back to the studio!  If you have any questions about picture day, please let us know.  More info from Donnor photography will be coming home as well.

Recital Handbook Q and A

We typically sell out or come close to selling out all our recitals. Therefore, we are selling 7 tickets at first to each child and 10 tickets to each family.  This includes divorced family members as well.  We offer a limited amount of tickets at first to allow each family the same opportunity to purchase tickets.  What generally happens is preschool parents want more than 7 tickets and the older dancers parents typically want less than the 7 allowed tickets, leaving many tickets to be distributed to the wait list.  Please understand we do not reserve 7 tickets for each family, nor do we buy back any tickets once they are purchased. You are not guaranteed 7 tickets; so even if you only purchased 4 tickets this does not mean that you can sell your remaining 3 tickets to another dance family, or come get 3 more tickets at a later date.

 

TICKET INFO - IMPORTANT

Once you have made your initial ticket purchase, your name will be crossed of the master list.  If you need more tickets after your initial purchase, you will be added to our wait list. This is the only way we can fairly keep track of each family.   

 If you need more than 7 tickets, we will gladly add your name to the wait list.  We will work our way down the wait list tickets starting Friday, June 2nd in the order tickets were purchased.  Families that wait to bring their accounts up to date will not be guaranteed tickets. 

We do require children one and older to have a ticket.  Children are not allowed to sit on laps, as the audience guest behind you would not appreciate that viewing.  It is best to leave your younger children at home, so you can enjoy your dancers hard work and accomplishment.  Luckily every seat in the auditorium is a great seat.

9th Annual Dance Recital

We are excited to share with you our theme for this year's Spring Recital. HHDA proudly presents "For Your Amusement!" All of our songs have been selected to represent the many things you can do on a Boardwalk. We are all gearing up with excitement to bring you a weekend of fun and entertainment. This is our recital graphic. The recital t-shirt will have this logo on them and will be gray. An order form will be available for those shortly.

Below is the itemized listing for each show order. We put on 3 recitals, Saturday the 17th at 1:30, 6:30 and Sunday 18th at 1:00.  There will be an incredible amount of recital information coming in next month's newsletter. For now, please find your child's class(s) listed on the show order to know what recital your dancer will be performing in. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
