About HHDA

Dance creates healthy minds and bodies.  At an early age children are developing social skills by learning how to take turns, follow directions and interacting with other children their age.  We are proud to say that we create happy children in our classrooms.  Although developing the technical aspects of dance is important, developing the mind is just as important.  Here at HHDA we encourage the children to push themselves to new levels at every class and strive for personal goals.  The gift of dance is a great investment.  We encourage you to explore what dance can do for your child.

Acrobatic Arts

What is Acrobatic Arts?

Their Mission:
To set the standard of excellence in education among dance instructors in order to promote technique and progressions in Acrobatic Dance.

The Premise:
We believe that proficient dance educators can be taught how to teach acro dance. Great dance teachers already understand the artistic requirements and extensions that dance demands, and can learn the progressions necessary to teach their students the skills fundamental to acro dance

The Demand:
The increased popularity of mainstream media, including Cirque du Soleil and Dance Television has created a huge demand for acro dance teachers in studio settings.

The Benefit:
Dances who train through Acrobatic Arts have balanced development, are stronger, more flexible, and fearless. Studios that implement this program will see dancers with more skills, who have fewer accidents and are less likely to develop chronic injuries.

HHDA’s Heather Gerardi and Heidi Sulminski have both successfully passed a written and practical exam for levels 1-6 in the Acrobatic Arts program. They are excited to transition this program into the studio.
